This book by new author Douglas Hoy was sent to us by their publisher, and they asked us for and I quote..."A blunt and honest review!"
So you ask, you shall receive. My first impression with this book was from the cover, and it promises to be paradise, and all about Paradise, and also oddly enough.... What could go wrong.
Well, wrong things go and what at first seemed like one of those average yawn while you read it, proved to be actually an interesting and fun read. The book chronicles the adventures of the author with his friends. From boat disasters, to interesting and eclectic cohorts, this book has it all.
The author even has a part called Pole Dancing that I can assure you does not involve strippers. He wished I bet, however you will have to read it to understand the significance. The book is edited tightly, laid out cleanly, and was easy to follow. He does not use chapters in the normal sense and this is a bit of a turn off to me, as you really don't have a place to rest from. Thus we tood a tad from his score for this.
However besides this the book is fun, interesting, and really a blast to read. I would say get it if you want something fun and interesting. I look forward to his other books if he writes any. This author gets a well deserved
4.5 Stars
